I, of course, responded to their 'sarcastic question' with a sarcastic answer, which was pretty much the opposite of the truth.<br /><br />A couple of days later, I start getting hate mail via my blog. <br /><br />Turns out the person had written an entire blog piece on the 'fact' that I'd clarified for them and they'd included my blog address in case people wanted to contact me for more 'expert opinion'.<br /><br />I had to ask them to publish an explanation and apology, which only got me MORE hate mail from people saying I shouldn't joke about such things.
